Mr. Gregor recently made two web sites for me. The first one was as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, a position out of which I stepped last fall. It concerned a team of students another faculty member (Professor Rick Porter) and I were putting together to do Research on Experiential Education and Learning (REEL). The URL is http://www.casreel.neu.edu. The second web site was for my neuroscience research laboratory as a professor. The URL is http://www.psych.neu.edu/stellar/index.php. In each case, he was paid about $500. Mr. Gregor is part of the lab, which is how I found him in the first place.
Now he has asked me to make a few comments on these sites and what it was like to work with him. Despite the fact that we had a student-faculty relationship and were familiar with each other, the web development relationship was highly professional. Mr. Gregor delivered what he said he would on time and, in fact, he exceed my expectations. The management of the web sites behind the scenes is easy. In fact, I have spent a great deal of time on the lab web site recently and so am very familiar with how he set it up. Everything is intuitive and I am having no difficulty managing the content. When I do have a question, he answers promptly and effectively. I am also pleased that when I mentioned that I had a blog (a third web site) he connected my personal bio part of the lab web site to the blog so that anyone digging into my bio on the lab web site can know what is going on in the blog and easily get there. Finally, I like the way the sites look and so do the people they serve. The sites are aesthetically pleasing to us and that is important as they project our image. Mr. Gregor even ran a tutorial in the lab and set on up on the web site (visible after log in) to help us all manage the content in our sections.
I highly recommend Mr. Gregor. As a professor I know he is very bright, hard working, dependable, insightful, and a great person with whom to deal. I now know all of this is true as a web designer and that on top of that he is highly professional, as I stated above. I enthusiastically recommend him to anyone who wants a web site (or an emerging neuroscientist).
