I used a semi-structured interview procedure with the actual users of this lab website. I asked the users to complete the following tasks:
The subjects were asked to "think out loud" as they navigated the website, which enabled me to gain insight into any confusing elements on the page. I made many pages of notes of user experience problems that caused confusion, or defied the user's expectation about how the website work. The main objections that user's had was the default layout for publishing articles, which was confusing and overly complex. The results speak for themselves, and so does the feedback that I recieved from the prinicapal investigator of the lab (who comissioned the website)
